This is an officially licensed SNL costume and it consists of a sweatshirt-like black top that features long sleeves and the Spartan logo imprinted in red and white.

Also included with this SNL outfit is a white pleated mini skirt that features inserts in black and red.

But who are the SNL Spartan cheerleaders and who are they cheering for?

The SNL Spartan cheerleaders were a couple of characters named Arianna and Craig who appeared in Saturday Night Live, an NBC comedy show in the 1990s. They depicted socially misfitted students who appointed themselves as leaders of their school functions. Because they were forbidden to cheer for their football team, they proceeded to cheer at events which traditionally never have cheerleaders — chess tournaments, spelling bees, swim meets and so on.

Ultimately, the two SNL Spartan cheerleaders also performed their cheerleading acts outside of school at Halloween and birthday parties, at family gatherings, a street carnivals and at Hickory Farms.
